Theresa Murillo

Dr. Murillo is a proud native San Diegan. In order to pursue her career, she attended California State Polytechnic University Pomona to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and further went on to receive her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles County. Dr. Murillo is a 2017 graduate. After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Murillo completed an internship with the San Diego Humane Society; where she has been training through their rigorous program in shelter medicine and high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter. Through her various training, she has obtained skills with all types of animals- cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more. She is excited to continue practicing high-quality medicine for companion animals and to continue to pursue her certification with the American Boarded Veterinary Practitioners for Exotic Companion Mammal species, which she hopes to complete during her tenure. Dr. Murillo currently lives in San Diego with her husband, Stephan and her 2 daughters, Clementine and Aurora. They have a cat named “Tod” and a Sulcata tortoise named “Barry Allen”. When she is not working, Dr. Murillo enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. Some of her hobbies include running, going to the beach, and participating in all things in the “geek universe” – Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more.
