Samia Shalabi

Dr. Shalabi is a proud Palestinian-American, born and raised in the Chicago-land area. She is the first veterinarian in her family, but hopefully not the last! Becoming a veterinarian and moving to California had always been a dream-like goal. There were many challenges along the way, but she made that dream come true with the support of family and friends. Persistence is the key! She completed a bachelor’s degree in animal science as well as a professional science master’s degree in agriculture production at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Shalabi went on to earn her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia a.k.a. Mizzou. Now she is thrilled to be an associate veterinarian of the OPV family. Dr. Shalabi has a big soft spot for felines but loves her canine patients as well. She also has a passion for wildlife and exotic animal medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Shalabi enjoys boxing, everything art related, getting lost in nature, traveling, and getting hooked on docuseries. Most importantly, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and sweet black cat named Nimrah.
